The main character in this novel by Bragi Páll Sigurðsson, Jens Ólafsson Olsen, is seeing his health deteriorate. He struggles to get better and is willing to try some unconventional methods to reach that goal. The result however is surprising and some cases unpleasant. 

Brilliant character creation by Bragi Páll and certainly an interesting read.
