There was a character in a children's book in Iceland called Þorlákur Snjákason, Láki for short. Láki is an inspiration for Bjarki Karlsson in his many layered modern day rhymes about Láki. In the rhymes Láki does his best really to step on as many toes as possible and they are a marvelous parody on a number of issues of modern society. What's more is that Bjarki Karlsson is fantastically able wordsmith and poet and manages to narrate his tale masterfully.
