Kambsmálið

The fourth of June 1953, the proper authorities came to auction away all the belongings at the farm of Kambur in Árneshreppur in the north west of Iceland. The housewive was in Reykjavík seeking treatment for tb and the farmer had passed away a year before leaving behind some eight children aged seven to eighteen. Everything was auctioned off but the oldest child prevented the group of children being seperated. A truly interesting tale from mid twentieth century Iceland.
