This book presents images of all the major works by Icelandic artist Steinunn Þórarinsdóttir, accompanied by essays from both Icelandic and international experts who explore her artistic career and oeuvre from a variety of perspectives — among them art historian Judith Dupré and anthropologist Gísli Pálsson.

Never before has a comprehensive monograph on Steinunn’s art been published. Over a career spanning more than forty-five years, she has received numerous awards and distinctions for her work, both in Iceland and abroad. Steinunn herself turns seventy this year, and in September a new exhibition of her recent pieces will open at Gallerí Þula in the Marshall House.

The book, comprising 350 pages, will include around 250 photographs of Steinunn’s works, along with other images from her long and distinguished career. It will be published in both Icelandic and English.
