in 1802 a coloured man, a slave and a war hero from the Virgin Islands, then a Danish colony in the Caribbean Ocean, settled in Djúpavogur in the south east of Iceland. What's more is that he married an Icelandic woman and became a successful business man. Marvelously interesting case that's equally well depicted by Gísli Pálsson professor of anthropology at the University of Iceland.
