Fiskarnir hafa enga fætur was published in 2013 to much critical acclaim in Iceland. Jón Kalman Stefánsson based his book in part on his own experience growing up in Keflavik and the follow up to the book was Eitthvað á stærð við alheiminn published in 2015. He  and the english translator of the book, Phil Roughton, recently got shortlisted for the Man Booker award for the book.
