Blóðberg

In 1608, a young woman in the north of Iceland, takes an oath promising that she is a virgin. This was a very serious affair at the time and women could be drowned if proven to give false evidence about such things. Five months later she gives birth and what follows is a decade of hardships and torture. Þóra Karítas Árnadóttir has previously been writing for cinema and television and in 2015 published Mörkin - saga mömmu about her mother. Blóðberg is her first novel.
