Birtingur og símabannið mikla

The parents of Birtingur, the main character in this book by celebrated Icelandic young adult author, Gunnar Helgason, are in some strange parenting campaign. Which is horrible for Birtingur. No computer time is one of the tools.  

They even have the audacity to inform him that if wants a phone so badly then he could always try and earn some money and buy his own phone. 

So, how complicated can it be to save and earn enough money to be able to buy a phone?
