Icelandic artist Kristján Steingrímur has been doing his environmental art for some years now. He works with layers of soil in the ground that connect to motives in Icelandic nature and places. By doing this he creates a new relationship to the ground and soil, color and creation and brings forth the humane and emotional that supports his works.
Editied by art historian Æsa Sigurjónsdóttir and with contribution by geologist Snæbjörn Guðmundsson and artist Guðmundur Oddur Magnússon.
